Emesene 1.6
Monday (January 4th 2010) saw the release of emesene 1.6 – "mate". Emesene is an OpenSource (& GPL ) Windows Live Messenger (WLM) client for both Windows (1.6 is coming soon to Windows, previous versions are available) and Linux (FTW), its goal is too replicate all the functionality of Windows Live Messenger, but with a cleaner and more user friendly interface.

Its features include:
-Nudges
-Now Playing personal messages
-Tabbed chat windows
-Offline Messaging
-Personal Messages
-Webcam support (Development stage)
-File Transfers
-Ability too change Themes
-Auto-replies
-And Plugins for more features.

Version 1.6 sees a large amount of bug fixes, improvements too the already very sleek GUI, and more. Were emesene excels is unlike other WLM clients, it still maintains the look and feel of WLM but with a clean and friendly interface, that lacks the clutter of WLM, yet it maintains a high level of functionality. The wide variety of themeing options means you can change the appearance options including the colour, to the icons, the chat layout and much more. If your not happy with the themes provided, its quick and easy too install new ones.

Not all the download packages are available for every distribution yet, but keep checking the site http://emesene.org/. Ubuntu users can add the PPA repository, just open up the terminal and type:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bjfs/ppa
and then
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install emesene

My PC-Addicts sticker is in the attic collecting dust. I would like a small logo sticker but unfortunately chris-d made providing for his family and fixing his house priority over US PC ADDICTS!

Im still intel and used to be AMD. AMD ruled the Single core world but just cant seem to keep up in the multi core world. I think AMD has a better price point for upper mid range cpu currently.
